Savoy Mountain State Forest
Savoy, MA
Hunting | Horseback Riding | Hiking
The Tyler Swamp Loop is a short, family-friendly hiking trail in Savoy Mountain State Forest. Visitors will encounter a narrow pathway through a diverse Western Massachusetts ecosystem. The path will travel through a forest of maples and hemlocks, and visitors will be able to see the marshes of a nearby swamp. In the summer, many local wildlife species thrive in this habitat; the forest often echoes with the sound of frogs and birds that live in these wetlands.
The pathway continues alongside the marsh before connecting with the North Pond Loop, which offers scenic views of tranquil mountain ponds. Visitors can then take this pathway to the Savoy Mountain State Forest Campground and the North Pond swimming area.
After meeting the North Pond Loop, the Tyler Swamp Loop will curve around the marsh and follow the wetland’s other side. Soon, visitors will arrive back at the trailhead.
