Things to do in Adams

Adams is home to the summit of Mount Greylock, Massachusetts' highest peak. Mount Greylock State Reservation attracts thousands of outdoor recreation enthusiasts each year for hiking, mountain biking, camping, birdwatching, snowshoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing. The famous Thunderbolt Ski Run, a historic backcountry ski trail, descends into Greylock Glen in Adams. Greylock Glen, an outdoor recreation destination in its own right, has an extensive network of hiking and mountain biking trails. The net-zero energy Greylock Glen Outdoor Center will include a café, outdoor outfitter/retailer, and educational programming when it opens in 2024.

The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail passes through the center of the town as it transits from Pittsfield to North Adams. The trail serves as a significant pedestrian connection between central and northern Berkshire County. The Appalachian Trail passes through approximately 2 miles of the town.
