About Russell Field

Russell Field is an athletic recreation complex managed by the Town of Adams. Visitors to the field have many options for an enjoyable day in the Berkshires. Multiple athletic fields–including a baseball field and tennis courts—offer an excellent location for team play and one-on-one practice. The park also provides guided gym equipment, perfect for those seeking to exercise outside.

Russell Field is also a family-friendly space for kids to play. The expansive field is ideal for running around, and the park has a new playground ready for young children of all ages.

The field then connects to the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail: a wide, paved path from North Adams to Pittsfield. Visitors to the trail can go walking, biking, and rollerblading along scenic views through many Western Massachusetts towns. Northward from Russell Field, visitors can proceed through a green forest toward the center of Adams. Much of this trail section has streetlamps for safe travel in the evening. Going southward, meanwhile, will eventually bring visitors to the quaint downtown area of Cheshire.

Visitors will find a large parking area off Harmony Street past Temple Street.
