About Sucker Brook Trailhead

The Sucker Brook Trailhead provides access to the Adams Sno-Drifter Trail and the Sucker Brook Trail. Both of these pathways offer space for hiking and snowmobiling in Savoy Mountain State Forest. The Sucker Brook Trail heads toward the east and connects with the Carpenter Trail. The Adams Sno-Drifter trail, meanwhile, intersects with the Florida Trail and eventually crosses over to Savoy Center Road. These trails both start on a wide, grassy two-track before traveling into a local Western Massachusetts forest ecosystem. Many wildlife species, including birds and salamanders, are easily seen on these paths. But, while the Adams Sno-Drifter traverses hilly terrain, the Sucker Brook Trail is relatively flat.

Savoy Mountain State Forest is a large outdoor recreation area with plenty of opportunities for an enjoyable day in the Berkshires. The forest features campsites, swimming areas, and over 50 miles of hiking trails. In the summertime, the forest has various programming for overnight visitors at the local campground. The area is also open for hunting during the appropriate seasons.

Because there is no designated parking for this trailhead, visitors should park on the shoulder of Florida Road where appropriate.
