About Hopper Road Trailhead

The Hopper Road Trailhead will bring visitors to an expansive hiking area in Mount Greylock State Reservation. Upon leaving the parking lot, visitors will have several options for an enjoyable day of outdoor recreation in Western Massachusetts. Initially, hikers will travel on an old road alongside agricultural fields. Visitors will eventually find a picnic table in one of these fields, perfect for a lunchtime pitstop.

The Hopper Road Trail is 2.4 miles to Sperry Road. From there, it's an additional 1.7 miles to the summit of Mount Greylock. The Haley Farm Trail is 2.2 miles to Stony Ledge.

Visitors will access an overlook of Williamstown and the summit of Greylock near the top of the Stony Ledge pathway. When the weather cools in autumn, this mountain often erupts with the yellows and oranges of fall foliage.

The Hopper Trail, which continues straight at the Haley Farm junction, will climb steadily toward Sperry Road Campground. This camping area features shelters, bathroom facilities, and bear boxes.

The Money Brook Trail, meanwhile, will take visitors to the north side of the State Reservation. Going straight on this trail, hikers will arrive at Money Brook Falls. Toward the left, on the other hand, the Mt. Prospect Trail will scramble to an overlook showcasing the surrounding Berkshires.

The State Reservation is open for hunting from October to May; however, it is prohibited within the Summit's War Memorial Park any time of the year.

Visitors will find a sizeable parking lot at the end of Hopper Road.
