About Pittsfield State Forest Campground

Pittsfield State Forest Campground is a large camping area, perfect for an extended vacation in Western Massachusetts. The park has two different camping areas, each offering a different experience.

Near the bottom of the Berry Pond Circuit Road, visitors will find the Parker Brook Campground and Bishop Field. Many of the Parker Brook Campground campsites are forested and include views of a babbling brook. The Bishop Field campsites, meanwhile, are located on a grassy lawn. Both area's campsites have a bear box, a picnic table, and a fire pit. Visitors here can also access bathroom facilities, showers, and a campground library. Campers can also head down to Lulu Brook for a quick swim at the beach.

Pittsfield State Forest is a large park on the west side of Pittsfield. Visitors can go camping, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding throughout the summer. The wintertime, meanwhile, provides opportunities to go cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Many trails are open for ATVs and snowmobiles. The forest is also available for hunting during the appropriate seasons.

Visitors must register at the park headquarters near the beginning of Berry Pond Circuit Road. The top of the Berry Pond Circuit features beautiful scenic views of the surrounding mountains.

This site has a paved parking lot by the visitor check-in lodge. There are accessible comfort stations and restrooms near several campsites. The campsites have uneven, dirt parking spaces, but the campsites themselves are flat. Reaching the campsites from the paved parking lot near the entrance requires traveling along the flat roads. Requests for an accessible campsite can be made when booking. More information about the accessibility of specific campsites can be found on the Pittsfield State Forest website.
