About Lulu Brook Trailhead

The Lulu Brook Trailhead will bring visitors to a hiking, swimming, and picnic area in Pittsfield State Forest. Immediately upon arriving at the parking lot, visitors will find a beach with picnic tables and changing facilities. This swimming hole is perfect for cooling down and relaxing with friends or family on hot summer days. There is also an artificial waterfall next to the beach, which creates a soothing sound throughout the area.

Beyond the swimming area, the Lulu Brook trail takes hikers along small cascades and waterfalls. Eventually, on this trail, visitors will climb to scenic views at Berry Pond and Tilden Swamp. The trail is 2.9 miles in length out and back.

Pittsfield State Forest is a large park on the west side of Pittsfield. Overall, visitors will have several options for an excellent day of outdoor recreation in Western Massachusetts. Visitors can go camping, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding throughout the summer. The wintertime, meanwhile, offers opportunities to go cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Many trails are open for ATVs and snowmobiles. The forest is also available for hunting during the appropriate seasons.

Visitors will find a large parking lot on the Berry Pond Circuit Road after it branches from the campground road. The top of the Berry Pond Circuit features beautiful scenic views of the surrounding mountains.
