West Memorial Park is a playground and picnic area managed by the City of Pittsfield. At the park, visitors will find an expansive field surrounded by a forest of oak trees. When the weather is warm in the Berkshires, these trees provide plenty of shade across the park. They also create a habitat for local Western Massachusetts wildlife species, including songbirds and chipmunks.
On the park's south side, visitors will find two swing sets and a slide. These small play structures are ideal for short pitstops with young kids. The park is also easily accessible from nearby restaurants and stores, making it convenient for a family-friendly pitstop. Visitors can bring lunch, picnic, and watch the clouds pass overhead.
There is a small parking area off northbound Cheshire Road, across from the entrance to the nearby strip mall.
