The Wildcat Trailhead on Beartown State Forest Road is a fantastic location for hikers or ORV riders to enjoy a beautiful hiking trail through the diverse forests of Western Massachusetts and visit a breathtaking lookout spot hidden within the dense woods. On Beartown State Forest Road, visitors can enter the Wildcat Trail, which meets up with the Lookout Trail. This part of the Wildcat Trail is wide, rocky, and exceedingly steep in one area. Visitors should take caution when hiking and riding on this part of the trail, but the view immediately after is enough reward to warrant a challenging hike or ride.
A small area to park at the trailhead for a short path leading to a vista that looks out over the mountains and forests of Beartown. Picnic tables at the lookout point make it an ideal place for a picnic, to rest on a long hike, or to take in the scenery. This trail is a perfect place for an outdoor adventure in the Berkshires, and visitors to Beartown State Forest should take advantage of it.
