About Beebe Trailhead

The Beebe Trail is an excellent all-purpose trail hidden within the northern section of the Beartown State Forest. It is a wide trail designed for use by off-road vehicles year-round. The trail begins following a small babbling brook that gives a pleasant feeling to the area. It starts relatively flat in elevation, following the creek along the rocky, windy road before climbing upwards through the dense evergreen forests of the Berkshires. This trail is a challenging ride for visitors on ORVs, and only the most experienced mountain bikers should embark on this trail; lots of rocks of varying sizes fill the path, making it a challenging but engaging ride through the beautiful forest and lush underbrush.

This trail is available year-round, and visitors are encouraged to explore it in both the snow and the summer, as each gives it drastically different scenery and a whole new experience. In the winter, the snow covers the rocks, making it an ideal location for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in Western Massachusetts. Snowshoeing is also very common—the inclines in the second half of the trail will give hikers and snowshoers alike a great workout in the beautiful landscape of Beartown State Forest. The Beebe Trail is an excellent location for visitors to the Berkshires to go hiking or ORV riding.
