The Lookout Trailh on Beartown State Forest Road is a fantastic location for hikers to enjoy a beautiful 0.3 mile hiking trail through the diverse forests of Western Massachusetts and visit a breathtaking lookout spot hidden within the dense woods. Visitors can continue past the lookout to get to the Wildcat Trail. The Lookout Trail ranges in width, is rocky, and exceedingly steep. Visitors should take caution when hiking on this part of the trail, but the view immediately after is enough reward to warrant a challenging hike.
A small area to park at the trailhead for a short path leading to a vista that looks out over the mountains and forests of Beartown. Picnic tables at the lookout point make it an ideal place for a picnic, to rest on a long hike, or to take in the scenery. This trail is a perfect place for an outdoor adventure in the Berkshires, and visitors to Beartown State Forest should take advantage of it.

The Lookout Trail ranges from 2'-6' wide and has slopes exceeding 15%. The trail is covered with rocks and roots, which can make navigating it difficult. The parking is a pull of that is a mix of dirt and pavement with a slight slope.
