The Benedict Road Baseball Fields is a family-friendly park and athletic complex managed by the City of Pittsfield. Overall, visitors will have several options for an enjoyable day of outdoor recreation in Western Massachusetts. The park features five baseball/softball fields, 4 of which have dugouts and large bleachers. These complexes are perfect for both competitive team play and individual practice. The fields also have stadium lights, allowing games to play into the evenings.
Beyond the park, across Benedict Road, there are excellent scenic views of the Berkshires toward the west. When the weather cools in autumn, these mountains burst with the yellows and oranges of fall foliage.
Next to the sporting arena, visitors will find a snack stand open on busy game days. This area also has picnic tables, which provide a perfect space for a family picnic when the weather is warm. Then, behind the Benedict Road Baseball Fields, visitors will find a small hiking trail through the woods. This trail heads through a maple forest toward Springside Park: an extensive hiking area managed by the City of Pittsfield. This park has dense forests, open meadows, and a pavilion.
A large parking lot is off southbound Benedict Road, across from Berkshire Hills Country Club.
