The Pontoosuc Lake Park Boat Launch is a perfect starting point for an enjoyable day of boating, canoeing, or kayaking in the Berkshires. The park features a wide, paved boat ramp with bathroom facilities and sizable parking spots. Visitors will notice that the ramp has a long dock, which makes launching easy and manageable.

Pontoosuc Lake Park also has a picnic area and a swimming beach. With its views of the surrounding mountains, the park is ideal for a short pitstop. Visitors can eat, swim, and watch the clouds pass overhead. When the weather cools, the park also offers expansive scenic views of the yellow and oranges of fall foliage.

Pontoosuc Lake is a "great pond" with a high density of homes and businesses along the shores. The lake is excellent for boating, paddling, and fishing in the summertime. It is also suitable for ice fishing in winter.

Before launching, boaters should ensure that their watercraft meets environmental standards. Visitors will find a large parking lot off westbound Hancock Road, just after it intersects with Route 7. The lot is only available for cars with boat trailers. Further down Hancock Road, visitors will also find the Pontoosuc Lake Park Picnic Area.
