About Westside Riverway Park

Westside Riverway Park is a small property in the Westside neighborhood of Pittsfield. The recently-developed park offers several opportunities for an enjoyable day of outdoor recreation in the Berkshires.

The park features a long pavilion and an outdoor stage for block parties and outdoor summer concerts, which both help connect the local community. The park's expansive lawn is also ideal for small picnics on warm days. Visitors can relax, eat lunch, and watch the clouds pass over.

The West Branch of the Housatonic River passes directly next to the park. Plenty of local Western Massachusetts wildlife species, including birds and amphibians, are easily seen along the river throughout the year's warmer months. Then, during summertime, there are many local pollinators within the park.

The park also provides access to the river and serves as a launch point for paddlers. Visitors can go canoeing or kayaking through Pittsfield and arrive at take-out points further downstream. Though anglers should not eat their catch, the river is excellent for fishing.

There is no designated parking lot for Westside Riverway Park. Visitors can park on the shoulder of Dewey Avenue where safe.
