About French Park

French Park is a large athletic complex, playground, and hiking area managed by the Town of Egremont. The park is terrific for a family-friendly day of outdoor recreation in the Berkshires. Upon arrival at the park, visitors will find a variety of sporting complexes. There are tennis courts, pickleball courts, a volleyball court, an outdoor basketball court, and a softball field. These structures are ideal for both team play and one-on-one practice. On the side of the park, visitors will also find a horse rink and horseshoe pit. Then, in the wintertime, the park has an ice-skating rink.

There is also a large playground, perfect for young kids of all ages. Parents, meanwhile, can rest on a shaded bench and watch their kids play. Near the playground facility, visitors will find a large pavilion. This pavilion, which can be rented in advance, is excellent for both small picnics and large gatherings. For adults, there is an Adult Exercise area with 7 pieces of equipment.

Behind the open area of the park, visitors will find numerous family-friendly hiking trails. These pathways sprawl through the forest and offer many opportunities to see local Western Massachusetts wildlife. The park also contains a pollinator pathway and community garden.

Visitors will find two parking lots for the complex, one on Prospect Lake Road and another on Baldwin Hill Road. There is an additional parking area for the dog park, further down Baldwin Hill Road.
