Karner Brook Wildlife Management Area is a small, undeveloped property in Egremont. The parking lot will bring visitors to the upland section of the area, which features an open forest of hemlocks and maples. This tranquil section of the property is excellent for hunting during the appropriate Western Massachusetts season. White-tailed deer are often abundant in the late fall.
A small path leads through the forest toward the swampland that dominates most of the area. This part of the property is ideal for wildlife viewing throughout the year. Visitors will likely see migratory birds and hear a variety of amphibian species. This marshy ecosystem is also a crucial habitat for rare plant and animal species native to the Berkshires.
Parking is in a looped lot at the end of Terra Ferma Drive: a small road that branches from Route 23.
