The US Army Corps of Engineers operates the Colebrook River Lake in Connecticut, which extends north into Massachusetts. At the north end of the lake is the transition between the lake and the West Branch of the Farmington River. The Corps has established this park at the transition for picnicking and walking. Walkers can enjoy walking almost a mile on the old Roostervill Road as it follows the river's shore to the lake. The road is closed for vehicle access. The park is popular for dog walking as well as bird watching, as the riverine environment provides ample opportunity to listen to the local birds. Fishing regulations follow the Connecticut rules and regulations. A boat launch and water access for Colebrook River Lake is available a few miles down in Conneticut directly off Colebrook River Road.
