Burbank Park Picnic Area is an expansive array of picnic tables and park grills, perfect for family barbecues alongside the lake. The picnic tables rest in the shade of a tall pine forest, providing ample reprieve from the sun on hot summer days. The picnic area also offers scenic views of Onota Lake. Local Western Massachusetts wildlife species, including waterfowl and eagles, are abundant across the water. Then, when the weather cools in autumn, the surrounding Berkshires burst with the oranges and yellows of fall foliage.
Alongside the picnic area, visitors will find a paved walking trail. Heading northward on this trail, visitors will arrive at Burbank Park Beach. This swimming area has bathroom facilities and changing rooms, ensuring that every visit is uninterrupted. There is also wheelchair access to the lake.
Going south, meanwhile, will bring visitors to a boat ramp and fishing pier. This is an excellent launch point for a day of canoeing or kayaking on the water.
Visitors can park alongside Lakeway Drive next to the picnic area. Additional parking lots are at the boat launch and at the end of Lakeway Drive (next to the beach). The parking area at the end of Lakeway Drive also features a playground for young children.
