Barrett Woods East
Barrett Woods
Great Barrington, MA
Hunting
Barrett Woods is a small, undeveloped property managed by BNRC. The property is split into two parcels, one east and another west. Both parcels feature unique Western Massachusetts ecosystems, such as wetlands and vernal pools. They are also excellent places for wildlife viewing throughout the year; visitors will likely encounter a diverse array of bird and insect species.
The western part of Barrett Woods contains double-track trails that sprawl throughout the forest. Upon arrival, visitors will encounter a wide path within a quiet pine grove. This pathway will continue through the woods, reach a small pond, and intersect with the property’s other trails.
Visitors can find parking for the west section of Barrett Woods off Pumpkin Hollow Road. There is a small, grassy lot. The property is open to hunting during the appropriate seasons in the Berkshires.
