About Osceola Park

Osceola Park is a play area and sledding hill managed by the City of Pittsfield. The park is ideal for both family-friendly picnics and snow days in Western Massachusetts.

During summer, visitors will see a wide lawn with a playground structure and a picnic table. Families can eat lunch while kids play on the park's swing set or slide. The surrounding forest offers plenty of wildlife-viewing opportunities; various bird species are audible throughout the year's warmer months.

Beyond the play area, the park features an outdoor basketball court, perfect for team play and one-on-one games. There is also a small baseball field in the far corner of the park.

In the winter, there is a tall sledding hill at the park. Previously, when the old tow rope was active, the space served as a municipal ski hill. Now, it is reserved for sledders on cold winter days. Upon climbing to the top of the hill, visitors will find a small scenic view of the Berkshires. Then, a thrilling ride will take sledders back to the bottom.

Visitors can find parking on the shoulder of Osceola Street. There is also a parking lot at the top of the sledding hill, just off Gale Avenue.
