About Kemp Park
Kemp Park is a small athletic complex and play area in the City of North Adams. The park is perfect for a short day of family-friendly outdoor recreation in the Berkshires. Upon arrival, visitors will find a playground and a baseball field. This field is an event space for little league games on warm summer evenings. It is also an ideal location for one-on-one batting practice.
Past the field, visitors will find the park's large play area, which features playground equipment for both younger toddlers and older kids. There are also benches on the side of the playground, where parents can relax and watch their kids play.
The park is surrounded by tall trees that provide numerous Western Massachusetts wildlife-viewing opportunities. Birds are easily heard singing from the forest in summer, and squirrels often play with each other in the trees. Toward the east, it is also possible to see the peaks of the Hoosac Range. These mountains burst with yellows and oranges when fall foliage arrives in autumn.
There is no designated parking lot for Kemp Park. Visitors should instead park on the shoulder of Lake Street or Sullivan School Road where appropriate.
