Hollow Fields provides visitors with hiking opportunities and tremendous views. Located in Richmond, a small town in Western Massachusetts, Hollow Fields is a property comprising of hayfields and forests, with access to Perry's Peak. Trails are mowed and easy to follow in the vast open fields, with some running into the woods to provide forested excursions. Fields Trail and Perry's Peak Loop lead visitors to Perry's Peak, which looks onto the Yokun Ridge, a remarkable mountain range in the Berkshires.
The mixture of field and forest makes Hollow Fields a great place for wildlife viewing, with trails leading visitors through the habitats of numerous bird species, including the bobolink and Savannah sparrow.
The different landscapes also provide several hiking options and difficulties. Fields Trail leads explorers through the hayfields before reaching Perry's Peak, providing a serene walk that totals 2 miles in round trip distance. Alternatively, Perry's Peak Loop begins on a mowed portion of a meadow before heading to the woods and eventually up a steeper, rockier trail in the forest to reach Perry's Peak.
Hollow Fields is over 660 acres in size and is managed and owned by the Berkshire Natural Resources Council. Hollow Fields is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Berkshires and provides trails and vistas for visitors to experience and view its serenity.
