Things to do in Alford
Alford is located in a valley on the eastern slopes of the Taconic Range, offering a variety of hiking opportunities. Alford Land Trust, a grassroots conservation organization composed of local residents, maintains several nature preserves in conjunction with Berkshire Natural Resources Council. One of the larger properties, Alford Springs, has over seven miles of trails on 899 acres and is open to hikers, mountain bikers, hunters and foragers, and experienced cross-country skiers. The heavily wooded reserve on the New York state line extends from ridgeline to valley with panoramic views of Berkshire County.
