About Thousand Acre Swamp
The Thousand Acre Swamp property is the main access point for Cookson State Forest. An easy, flat trail leads to a picnic area on Thousand Acres Swamp and a suspension bridge over the Whiting River. Once you cross the bridge, you can choose from a variety of trails, including trails to the beautiful East Indies Pond or circle around Thousand Acre Swamp.
