About Savoy Road Parking Area South

The southern Savoy Road Parking Area is a primary access point for the Eugene D. Moran Wildlife Management Area. Offering various landscapes, the WMA is attractive and open for hunting, fishing, birding, and hiking. The parking area is adjacent to fields and wetlands maintained for top-notch Western Massachusetts game bird hunting, which includes premier opportunities for targeting American woodcock, ruffed grouse, and pheasants.

Abandoned agricultural fields, shrubland habitats, and young forests provide additional options for wildlife viewing and hunting. A site for prime Berkshires birding, Eugene D. Moran WMA has been visited by nearly 200 bird species. Visitors have spotted uncommon species such as the American bittern, northern harrier, and Wilson’s snipe. Many other species rely on its unique environment. While the WMA’s prominent hunting activities are mentioned above, visitors can also find white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and black bears on the land.

The Eugene D. Moran Wildlife Management Area is a 1,800-acre property fully in Windsor, MA. The southern parking area on Savoy Road provides close access to Windsor Hill, which offers beautiful Berkshires views and sunsets. Hunters should reference the State of Massachusetts hunting regulations website, as well as the link below, which describes site-specific hunting rules for the WMA.
