Old Town Hall Playground is a medium-sized playground equipped with a blacktop, picnic benches, ample open space, and numerous fun pieces of play equipment. Visitors will find two swingsets, a manual merry-go-round, spring riders, slides, monkey bars, and more in the fenced play area. There are multiple benches around the equipment for parents to monitor their kids, and a few picnic tables provide an excellent spot to eat lunch and spend a long day in the park. Away from the playground, visitors can use a blacktop for four-square, hopscotch, jump rope, or any other game that comes to mind. Parkgoers are encouraged to bring sidewalk chalk for the blacktop.
A great feature of this park is that it is within walking distance of central Hinsdale, giving access to restaurants, town hall, and the public library. Additionally, the playground is across the street from the local elementary school, making it a common destination for families after school. Since Hinsdale is the summer camp capital of the Berkshires, the park also receives some traffic during the summer months. However, it is rare for the park to be overly crowded, and there is sufficient space for multiple families to enjoy the park at once.
The park can be accessed off Route 143, with parking available at the old town hall. Those interested in Western Massachusetts history appreciate the now-defunct building, which was originally known as Hinsdale Acadamy and now provides a quaint backdrop to the park. Visitors are advised that the playground closes 30 minutes after sunset.

When arriving at the Old Town Hall Playground, visitors can park at the Old Town Hall; however, there are no accessible parking spaces available at the Old Town Hall. To access the playground from the parking lot, visitors will have to walk down a grassy hill and across a grassy field, as there is no direct path to the park. This makes accessibility difficult for some visitors. The playground is entirely covered in thick grass, and none of the play equipment is accessible, making accessibility difficult for some visitors.
