Mt. Pleasant Playground is a play area and hiking trailhead near downtown Williamstown. Overall, visitors will have several options for an enjoyable day of outdoor recreation in the Berkshires.
Upon arrival at the parking lot, visitors will find an expansive playground with swing sets, slides, and musical instruments. Then, visitors will see a picnic table and a park grill on the other side of the park. Families can barbecue, eat lunch or dinner, and then play on the play structure. Nearby, there is also a small swimming hole in the Green River, excellent for cooling down on warm summer days.
Next to the picnic area, visitors will find the Linear Link Trail. This hiking trail, recently constructed by the Hoosic River Watershed Council, travels alongside the Green River until meeting with Route 2. Numerous Western Massachusetts wildlife species, including birds and amphibians, will be audible along this trail throughout the spring and summer. Visitors can also see adult trout travel up the river during spawning season in the Berkshires.
The park features a small parking lot on an unnamed road that branches from Water Street. The park is easily accessible from downtown Williamstown.
