This parking area will bring visitors to a small parcel in the Green River Wildlife Management Area. This parcel directly abuts the Green River, providing anglers easy access to fly-fishing in the water. Upon arrival at the parking area, visitors will find an expansive grass field surrounded by a forest of Western Massachusetts floodplain species. After bushwacking through these dense woods, visitors will arrive at the banks of the Green River. This river features a variety of trout species throughout the year.
There is no formal parking lot for this section of the Green River WMA. Visitors can park in portions of the field near Route 43 Further south, visitors will find a parking area for the remainder of the WMA, which is open for hunting during the appropriate seasons in the Berkshires.
