About Mount Hope Park

Mount Hope is a small riverside park in Williamstown. The park is at the confluence of Roaring Brook and the Green River, meaning the sound of rushing water often reverberates throughout the property.

Upon arrival, visitors will find a vast lawn with picnic tables and grills, ideal for a family-friendly summer barbecue in the Berkshires. Visitors can relax, cook lunch, and listen to the water amble by. North of the picnic area, the park also features a lookout platform where visitors can watch the fast-moving cascades of Roaring Brook.

Throughout the hemlock forests on the park’s edges, visitors can walk on small trails and get closer to the water. Local Western Massachusetts wildlife species, including birds and amphibians, are easily found here throughout spring and summer.

Visitors will find parking off Hopper Road in a large parking lot. Local hikers use this parking lot to hike on the trails at Williams College's Mount Hope Farm. There is also a bike repair station at the park, excellent for cyclists who need a quick fix while riding through Williamstown.
