About Grove Street Park

Grove Street Park is a popular neighborhood park located a short walk from downtown Great Barrington. Loved for its quiet and friendly atmosphere, children and families can enjoy various activities at this peaceful site. A sizeable playground equipped with a slide, monkey bars, and four swings offers the park's youngest visitors a fun way to release some energy. Other visitors are drawn to the basketball court, which contains two hoops. Next to the basketball court is a water fountain. Benches and picnic tables are scattered throughout the park, offering visitors ample space to enjoy a fun day in the Berkshires.

Much of the park is shaded by canopies of pine and deciduous trees, making it an appealing place to escape the hot summer sun while remaining outdoors. These trees thrive in the environment around Grove Street Park, and their vibrant fall colors make the park an excellent stop for families with young kids looking to explore the fall foliage of Western Massachusetts in a more casual environment. The park sits next to a scenic brook, and on the lower end of the park, a small trail travels along the stream that includes a footbridge over the water. Dogs are welcome at the park if they are on a leash, and owners are expected to pick up after their pets. Waste bags can be located by the trash can.

Parking is permitted along Grove Street and in a limited number of spots at the park. The park is a peaceful walk away from downtown Great Barrington and surrounding neighborhoods. Many who walk from downtown enjoy entering from a trail on Bentley Ave.
