About East Mountain Forest
East Mountain State Forest is a fantastic opportunity to take in the natural environment in the Berkshires. The forest offers a quick hike up to East Rock, which offers views overlooking the village of Great Barrington and the Taconic Mountains to the west. The hike, while short, is strenuous. Mountain bikers frequent the trails and ride a fun loop descending down the mountain. Parking is in a small lot on Quarry Street.
