About Crane Park
Crane Park is a family-friendly play area and sporting complex managed by the City of Pittsfield. The park is excellent for an enjoyable day of outdoor recreation in the Berkshires.
The park's main feature is a large sporting rink, which has many different purposes throughout the year. When the weather is cold enough, this arena becomes a public ice-skating rink for local community members. Meanwhile, during the year's warmer months, it serves as an ideal place for roller hockey. Overall, visitors will find the rink perfect for both competitive team play and individual practice.
Beyond the skating rink is a basketball court where visitors can work to improve their skills or play with friends. Then, near the parking lot, the park also has a playground and picnic tables. Families can bring lunch, eat at a table, and play on the park's swing set or slide. With its tall trees, the lawn has ample shade on hot summer days in Western Massachusetts.
A small parking lot is on the shoulder of Dartmouth Street, just before it intersects with Springside Avenue.
