Coolidge Park is a family-friendly property managed by the City of Pittsfield. The park is perfect for a short day of outdoor recreation in the Berkshires. On the park's west side, visitors will notice an adult fitness playground structure. Overall, this structure is ideal for a short workout.
Upon leaving the athletic playground, visitors will find a wide walking trail alongside an expansive field. Visitors can bring a soccer ball and practice on this lawn. Then, beyond the grassy area, there is an excellent view of a Western Massachusetts wetland ecosystem. Plenty of wildlife species, including birds and amphibians, are easily visible in this habitat. Also, eventually, the walking trail heads into a hardwood forest and provides further wildlife-viewing opportunities.
Visitors should park at Conte Elementary School when school is not in session or street park nearby as parking is not allowed on the gravel driveway leading to the park from the corner of South Atlanic and Taubert Ave.

There are two entrances to Coolidge Park. The first one, located on Atlantic Avenue, is a short gravel road that leads to a chain gate. Visitors can walk around the gate on a 7-foot-wide gravel path. The other entrance is from Conte Community Elementary and is a 7-foot paved bridge. Both entrances lead to a 12-foot-wide trail that runs the entirety of the park. Both entrances bring visitors right to the playground located in the park. There is no direct path of access to the playground, as visitors must walk through the grass to reach it. A 3-inch lip surrounds the playground, and the surface material is also grass. The playground equipment at Coolidge Park is also not specifically designed to be ADA accessible.
