About Burbank Trail
The Burbank Trail is a short, 2/3rd mile hiking trail between Stratton Road and Luce Road in Williamstown. The trail travels through an expansive meadow, offering excellent scenic views of the Berkshires. Immediately upon arrival at the trailhead on Stratton Road, visitors can look across the field and see Mount Williams rising above the landscape. When the weather cools in autumn, this mountain bursts with the yellows and oranges of fall foliage.
Continuing along the trail, visitors will likely see plenty of local Western Massachusetts wildlife species. For example, wildflowers bloom in the meadow during spring and early fall. Songbirds and insects, meanwhile, are easily heard echoing throughout the nearby forest.
As hikers proceed through the field, they will access further views of the mountains. The Hoosac Range, rising beyond North Adams, is visible toward the east. The Taconic Crest, meanwhile, rests toward the west. When the Burbank Trail is open for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in winter, these hills are often blanketed with snow.
There is no designated parking lot for the Burbank Trail. Visitors should park on the shoulder of Stratton Road where appropriate.
