About Berkshire South Regional Community Center
The Berkshires South Regional Community Center is a beautiful place hidden within Great Barrington, MA, as it has easy access to several outdoor areas that are perfect for a family-friendly outdoor adventure in Western Massachusetts. A large, flat, grassy lawn is right off the paved parking lot. The property is well-mowed, with slight fruit trees growing along one side of it and other beautiful vegetation surrounding the perimeter. In the center of the lawn is a small covered pavilion with picnic tables inside, making it a perfect location for a small gathering in the sun and fresh air of the Berkshires. A small community garden is located next to the green area as well.
A trailhead for the Fountain Pond State Park trails is on the other side of the grassy area from the parking lot. These hiking trails are moderately challenging, as they can be steep in some sections and have several rocks and roots, making footing a bit uneven. The trail stemming from the Community Center goes up into the nearby mountain, through a dense forest of oaks, maples, and other towering trees, over small streams cascading down the hill, and to the stunning Fountain Pond. The Berkshire South Regional Community Center is perfect for families to enjoy quality time outdoors.

The South Berkshire Community Center contains multiple large, flat paved lots. The lot at the end of Chrissy Road contains over 50 spaces. While there are multiple accessible parking spaces, they provide easy access to the community center only. Additional parking can be found on a side lot just before the end of Chrissy Road, with parking for at least 20 cars. Access to the Threemile hill trail can be found at the east side of the first parking lot. The Three Mile Hill trail contains moderate grades of 10-15% over dirt, with sections of roots and rocks. An accessible picnic table sits adjacent to the parking area.
