Berkshire Fishing Club is located on Palmer Brook Lake in Becket, a private lake with one of the largest undeveloped shorelines in Western Massachusetts. Offering a near-wilderness experience and excellent largemouth bass fishing, Palmer Brook Lake and its fishing opportunities are available through and enhanced by Berkshire Fishing Club. The club provides boats with electric trolling motors and small gas motors that visitors can reserve. Berkshire Fishing Club also offers bass fishing classes. Visitors can expect a tranquil lake and hassle-free boating and fishing, which includes very populous, active, and catchable bass and pickerel. Private boats are not permitted on the lake, though visitors can bring their own canoe or kayak to paddle around the lake. The area's wildlife includes deer, bears, beavers, otters, waterfowl, and moose.
Palmer Brook is a one-mile long, 125-acre lake surrounded by 850 acres of forested land, explaining its miles of tree-dense shoreline. The 850-acre piece of land was owned by the family behind Berkshire Fishing Club. During the 1960s, the family decided to build a dam to block Palmer Brook, which caused water to flood the woods and eventually become the Palmer Brook Lake. A one-day membership to BFC costs $250, which includes boat and lake rental, while a yearly membership costs $1500. Fishing with the club at Palmer Brook Lake is an excellent way to experience Berkshires fishing in an ultra-serene environment.
