About Becket Town Beach

The Becket Town Beach, located on Center Pond in Becket, is a fantastic public beach and swim area for families who live in Becket and Washington. This family-friendly asset offers a large sandy beach, a roped-off swim area, which includes a float, picnic tables and grills, and a gravel boat launch. A lifeguard is on duty most of the summer. Children will love building sand castles, running into the water, and jumping off the float while their parents sit nearby enjoying the view.

While enjoying the beach, users can look out over the beautiful Center Pond, a 125-acre pond in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. Paddlers can enjoy a 1.5-mile paddle around the lake, passing summer camps (Camp Greylock and Camp Watitoh) and second homes. Motor boats, including pontoon boats and water skiing, are prevalent on the lake. Fishing is also good on Center Pond, with perch, bass, and pickerel.

This town beach is available only to Becket and Washington property owners, who must obtain permits.
