Information
The Becket Center Town Park provides plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities for families and children of the Berkshires. The park's amenities include a large playground and swing set, which provide entertainment for younger children. Large fields on the property are great resources for all outdoor activities, such as throwing a frisbee or playing flag football. The park also includes baseball and soccer-specific fields that can be used for organized/competitive youth or adult athletic events. A half-court and basketball hoop invite recreational basketball players or pickup games, and a tetherball pole and volleyball sandpit similarly offer recreational athletic options. The park also has a pavilion with picnic tables and benches, providing a space for a snack/picnic break, or just a seat in the shade.
The Becket Center Town Park resulted from the town's desire and new capabilities after building a new town hall in 1992. Discussion and funding raised at a town meeting set the foundation for the town park, figuratively and literally. An open space was initially leveled and equipped with a drainage system before volunteers built a wooden play structure and Little League-sized baseball field. Following its origination, the park has received many additions, which include a playground replacement in 2017 for a more modern structure. This local town park provides any Western Massachusetts visitor, passersby, or resident with many outdoor recreation activities in a calm and quiet outdoor setting typical of the Berkshires.

Becket Town Park contains a paved, flat parking area that provides room for at least five cars to park. The parking area shares a lot with the town basketball court. Additionally, there is one handicap parking space located directly in front of the pavilion structure. The pavilion structure, which contains accessible picnic tables and benches, is accessible from the parking area. One portable restroom also sits in front of the pavilion.
Other Park features, including the playground, rest at the bottom of a short hill from the parking area. They connect to the parking area via a sloped path consisting of loose gravel, with slopes between 10-12%. The playground is made up of woodchips, and the baseball field is accessible through grass, surrounded by multiple picnic tables. Besides the hill between the two areas of the park, both areas are flat.
