The Windsor Jambs are located in the Windsor State Forest and can be accessed from a large parking lot on Schoolhouse Road in Windsor, Massachusetts. From the parking lot, a trailhead for Jambs Trail leads into the forest and runs alongside the Windsor Jambs Brook. After a short distance, visitors reach Windsor Jambs, where they can see and listen to the brook cascading between 80-foot-high granite walls. Viewers can continue along the Jambs Trail, which gradually slopes downward and brings hikers closer to Windsor Jambs Brook. From there, visitors can potentially feel the water as the brook continues to rush and splash over its rocky streambed. Wading in the brook may be possible at some points, but is dangerous and only permitted if denoted on the Massachusetts DCR Windsor State Forest webpage.
While the Windsor Jambs are spectacular, they are just one feature of Windsor State Park. With large open fields, picnic tables, and miles of trails, the Western Massachusetts park offers additional hiking and outdoor recreation opportunities. Of course, the Jambs are the main attraction for many visitors, and for good reason. The Windsor Jambs are a perfect destination for experiencing the serenity and remarkable beauty commonly accompanying outdoor excursions and hikes in the Berkshires.
Prospective visitors can refer to this Massachusetts DCR page for information regarding current park closures and updates.

Upon arriving at Windsor Jambs, visitors will be greeted by a large paved parking lot offering ample parking. However, there are no accessible parking spots in the lot. From the parking lot, visitors will have to contend with an 8-inch lip between the parking lot and the trail. The trail leading from the parking lot is steep and rocky, reaching slopes over 20%. The trail leading from the parking lot can also become narrow in sections, reaching widths as narrow as 4 feet. The trail is also uneven in sections, with a cross-slope of up to 15% in places. These factors can make accessibility difficult for some visitors and are factors all visitors should be cautious of. There is also a picnic area at Windsor Jambs. However, there is no path access from the parking lot, so visitors will have to walk across the grass to access the picnic area. This can make accessibility difficult for some visitors.
