The West Branch Green River Preserve is a large, 84-acre property managed by Williamstown Rural Lands. Overall, the land is an ideal spot to view local Western Massachusetts wildlife species, such as wildflowers and native birds.
Upon arriving at the preserve, visitors will immediately find a tall canopy of maples and a bed of ferns on the forest floor. The upper branches of the Green River pass through the property, echoing throughout the forest when the weather is warm. The preservation of this land helps protect the water downstream.
There are no designated parking spots for the preserve. Visitors should instead park on the shoulder of Old Mill Road where appropriate.
