The Taconic Golf Club is a golf course (available to the public) located on Williams College land in Western Massachusetts. The course was initially designed for its current location in the late 1920s but was recently remodeled in 2009.
The course has 18 holes, each providing plenty of variety for both beginners and experts. While the fairways are wide, many greens are elevated and fast. Overall, the course is excellent for golfers learning how to play and those hoping to improve their skills. The club has a practice green, a chipping area, and a net for practicing drives. A clubhouse with a restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner during the golf season.
While the weather is warm, the club hosts several tournaments, including Williams College golf matches. Visitors can review the schedule, learn about memberships, and see pictures on the club's website. Throughout the 18 holes, visitors will access expansive scenic views of the surrounding Berkshires. When the weather cools in autumn, these mountains burst with the yellows and oranges of fall foliage.
Visitors will find a parking lot on the shoulder of Meacham Street, just before it intersects with Route 43.
