About Shaker Ridge Trails

Shaker Ridge Trails is a growing mountain bike destination in the towns of Hancock and Lanesborough, with approximately 12 miles of professionally designed, mountain bike-optimized singletrack currently open (as of October, 2026). Designed with rider experience, progression, and sustainability in mind, the trail network offers a range of riding experiences for both newer and more experienced riders.

The initial network is just the beginning of a much larger vision. Future phases will continue expanding Shaker Ridge Trails, with plans for approximately 30 miles of trails in the broader Phase I network and a long-term vision of more than 100 miles of connected trails across multiple properties. Future development is expected to include additional mountain bike-optimized trails, long-distance connector routes, and new opportunities for adaptive mountain biking.

Shaker Ridge Trails is being developed with the goal of creating a destination-quality, four-season recreation experience that gives visitors a new reason to explore the Berkshires while also providing an exceptional outdoor resource for the local community. With its location near other major Berkshire attractions and outdoor recreation opportunities, the trail network is part of a growing vision for a more connected and diverse recreation landscape in the region. With new trails and connections planned for the years ahead, what visitors can experience today is only the beginning of what will become one of the Northeast's most ambitious outdoor recreation destinations.
