Parsons Marsh is a hidden gem within the Berkshires. Located in the southwestern part of Lenox, MA, the marsh is home to many wildlife and environmental ecosystems. Visitors to Parsons Marsh can enjoy a short and easy 0.6-mile walking trail that takes them through a quiet open meadow to a small pond and then on a boardwalk through a forest and vegetated wetland. Keen-eyed visitors can spot some of the 75 species of nesting birds that call Parsons Marsh home, along with a host of other animals, such as pollinators in the meadow, frogs and turtles in the wetlands, and countless mammals such as white-tailed deer, beavers, otters, foxes, or even black bear and coyote in the forest.
The walking trail through Parsons Marsh is accessible to visitors of all abilities, making it a prime location in Western Massachusetts for a family-friendly outdoor adventure. The wide boardwalk, packed stone dust trail, a picnic table overlooking the pond, benches on the boardwalk, and observation platform make Parsons Marsh a fantastic place for the whole family to enjoy the beauty of the Berkshires.

The Parsons Marsh Reserve provides an accessible parking area and trail for visitors. The parking area, featuring compact gravel on a slight hill, has two accessible parking spaces with one of them being van accessible. These accessible spaces are located directly next to the Parsons Marsh trail, which is .6 miles long. The trail is consistently flat and wide throughout its course and varies from crushed stone to wooden bridges and boardwalks. A few hundred feet into the trail, a small picnic area featuring standard wooden benches and tables is accessible over crushed stone.
