Olympian Meadows is the home of youth baseball and softball in Great Barrington. The park is bustling with activity on a spring or summer day as its two Little League baseball fields and two softball fields fill up with teams from throughout the Berkshires. When not reserved, visitors are welcome to use the fields for practice as long as they are kept in good condition for the following users. For those not interested in playing ball, the site has a small playground sandwiched between two ball fields, making it a great spot for kids to play while their siblings play baseball or softball. There is also vast open space throughout Olympian Meadows, making it an excellent place to throw a frisbee, fly a kite, or create a makeshift football field or soccer field.
The park also serves as an endpoint for the Riverfront Trail, an accessible crushed stone walking trail that runs along the Housatonic River. For those looking to stay in the park, multiple paths along the park's edge provide direct access to the river. Olympian Meadows also offers a soft surface for jogging or running, with the Riverfront Trail connecting the park to other areas in town. Parking is abundant within the park, but often a gate is closed to prevent vehicles from entering. In such a case, limited parking can be found near the gate. Whether being used as a relaxing picnic area or the site of an intense playoff baseball game, Olympian Meadows offers a family-friendly spot to enjoy various outdoor activities in Western Massachusetts.
