Narragansett Avenue Park is a family-friendly play area near Pontoosuc Lake, perfect for a short day of outdoor recreation in the Berkshires. Upon arrival at the park, visitors will greet an expansive lawn with a large playground on the park's north side. Benches rest along the side of this play structure, allowing parents to relax and watch their kids play.
Throughout the park, several picnic tables rest in the shade of tall trees. Families can bring lunch, eat, and look for wildlife. Local Western Massachusetts bird species, for example, are easily found in the park's trees in summertime. Pollinators also frequent the park in the early spring.
The park also features an outdoor basketball court, ideal for both individual practice and competitive team play. Then, visitors will find a swingset at the park's eastern corner.
There is no designated parking lot for Narragansett Avenue Park. Visitors should park on the shoulder of Narragansett Avenue where appropriate. Further along the shore of Pontoosuc Lake, on Sunrise Street, visitors will find a small swimming area.
