About Lenox Mountain

Osceola Road in Richmond provides access to a network of forested hiking trails within and adjacent to the Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Lenox. Heading north from the parking lot, hikers can follow the Yokun Ridge Trail to summit Lenox Mountain. At its peak, visitors can see the Richmond Fire Tower and look west to view the Town of Richmond, Richmond Pond, and the Taconic Mountains, collaborating to provide a green, mountainous landscape special to the rural towns of the Berkshires.

From Lenox Mountain, the Yokun Ridge Trail continues north to Mahanna Cobble, a vista-included hiking area on Bousquet Mountain. This same trail extends for miles south of the Osceola Road parking area as well and is maintained by the Berkshire Natural Resources Council as part of its High Road.

The High Road seeks to connect Berkshire County towns with each other and the natural world by creating an extended network of trails between trails to showcase and preserve the ecological diversity of Western Massachusetts and the surrounding area. This link provides more information regarding The High Road and BNRC's associated mission.

Lenox Mountain and its associated trails provide excellent Berkshires hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities. Osceola Road offers an entry point for various hiking options and durations.
