About Lanesborough Town Beach

Lanesborough Town Beach is a small beach on the north side of Pontoosuc Lake in the beautiful Berkshires. On a hot summer day, visitors can swim in a marked area and enjoy a view of the Taconic Mountains to the west. The beach is partially shaded, so there is room for those who want to bathe in the sun and those who want to escape the heat and cool off in the shade. Visitors can watch motorboats and jet skis cruise the lake, and kayakers paddle around. Boats can be launched on the southern side of the lake at Pontoosuc Lake Park in Pittsfield.

Pontoosuc Lake, located in Lanesborough and Pittsfield of Western Massachusetts, is a 511 acres lake and is considered a great pond by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which provides the public with access to the lake.

No lifeguard is provided, so families must be mindful of their children. Visitors to Lally Beach can park at the end of Sunrise Street.
