About Historic Valley Campground
Historic Valley Campground is a large, family-friendly camping area next to Windsor Lake. The campground has 100 sites, both for wilderness camping and RVs. The sites are well-spaced and wooded, providing plenty of shade on hot summer days. Some of the campsites have scenic views of Windsor Lake.
The campground also has bathrooms, a playground, disc golf, and access to Windsor Lake. With its public beach and views of the Berkshires, this lake is terrific for cooling off on a hot summer day. Visitors can go boating, canoeing, or kayaking on the lake. Fishing is also excellent at all times of the year. When the weather cools, the lake's edges burst with the yellows and oranges of fall foliage.
The public beach makes for an ideal picnic spot throughout the summer. Tables, benches, and grills line the property, offering idyllic lake views. The lake also hosts the Summer Concert Series in the summertime and provides a concession stand.
The parking lot is off Windsor Lake Road, which branches from the end of Bradley Street. Behind the campground, visitors will find the Camp Decker hiking trails. This labyrinth of hiking and cross-country skiing trails is perfect for a short day of exercise in Western Mass.
