About Cheshire Community House

The Cheshire Community House offers dozens of outdoor recreation activities for families and children. Located on School Street, blocks away from the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail and Cheshire’s downtown, the Community House and its amenities lie underneath the expansive Western Massachusetts mountains. Attractive for young children, its park features three modern playgrounds equipped with swings, climbing structures, slides, and bridges.

One playground is designed for toddlers and other very young children. Adjacent to the two larger playgrounds, a blacktop basketball court with two hoops offers recreational players a space to shoot or organize a pick-up game. A large field lies next to this, equipped with a baseball diamond, lacrosse nets, and open space. The field provides visitors with an area to perform various recreational athletic activities. Additionally, the property is home to a Little League-certified baseball field, with seating areas and restrooms for spectators.

The Cheshire Community House was formerly the Cheshire Elementary School and now houses several town government offices. An important building for the local government, its property has been maintained to provide the community with recreational benefits. Whether used by Cheshire visitors, passersby, or residents, the Cheshire Community House is an excellent place for family fun while enjoying the beauty of the Berkshire outdoors.
