About Bill Laston Memorial Park
Bill Laston Memorial Park is an expansive sporting complex and play area managed by the Town of Lanesborough. Overall, visitors will have several options for an enjoyable day of outdoor recreation in Western Massachusetts.
Immediately, visitors will find a softball field with bleachers, perfect for competitive play and team practice. Then, another softball field provides extra space for sporting events on the park's south side.
Between the two softball fields, visitors will see a youth football field for fall evening games. There is also an outdoor basketball court, ideal for visitors hoping to practice their shots.
A paved walking path then surrounds the park. The path's far end has expansive scenic views of the Berkshires, which burst with oranges and yellows when fall foliage arrives in autumn. There is also a picnic table where families can eat and relax in the shade.
Finally, visitors will find a playground and a little free library near the parking lot. This play area is perfect for young kids when the weather is warm.
Visitors will see a large sign for the park off southbound Route 7. There is a large parking lot next to the softball field.

The park has a dirt parking lot that is level, but can get muddy. The lot is surrounded by grassy areas with benches and a playset. There is a paved path running around the baseball diamond, but accessing it requires going across the dirt lot. An accessible picnic table is on the grass by the parking lot. There is a port-a-potty by the parking lot, which has a 2' bump getting into. The grass connects to a smooth brick patio that enters the field house.
